The Parish Council has recently completed a project for younger children at the WSCC sportsfield. There are also two other play areas, at the Recreation Ground and Aubries, both again for younger children.
Although we have the fitness trail at the sportsfield, as well as the basketball area there is not much for older children/teenagers to do in Walkern and we would like to rectify that if we can.
Obviously, funds are not available from the precept but there are grants out there and if there is a project to work towards there will be Parish Councillors who would be willing to put the work in to applying for funding.
So………….
Parents, teenagers, anyone who has an idea, please get in touch with the Clerk and let’s see if we can create something worthwhile in the near future.

Is there a local solicitor who may be able to help with a registrations and transfer of land from East Herts District Council to Walkern Parish Council? The Parish Council requested a few months ago to take over responsibility of the graveyard in Froghall Lane, to turn it into a Peace Garden for residents to be able to sit there and enjoy the surroundings. We plan on putting in a bench, plant some trees and make the area accessible with steps from Froghall Lane.
Please contact the Clerk at if you can help.
Many thanks
Walkern Parish Council
