Portable barbecues

During the current hot weather Walkern Parish Council respectfully requests that portable / throwaway barbecues not to be used on any of the councils land. For the avoidance of doubt this extends to the following areas:

  • Playground next to Bludgeons
  • Sports field at Walkern Sports & Community Centre (WSCC)
  • Allotment area and horse grazing field
  • St Mary’s carpark

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS AND FOOTPATHS IN WALKERN AND STEVENAGE) ORDER 2022

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-

  1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
  1. a) the road situated on the west side of No.61 Aubries, Walkern from its junction with Aubries north westwards and northwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. b) the road fronting Nos.32-42a Ashdown Road, Stevenage from its junction with Ashdown Road westwards and south westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath (“the Footpaths”):-
  1. a) the footpath fronting Nos.23-43 Aubries, Walkern from its junction with Aubries northwards for a distance of approximately 82

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north west and north sides of Aubries, the footpath situated on the east side of Nos.69-73 Aubries, the footpath situated on the north west side of No.17 Froghall Lane, the footway situated on the south side of Froghall Lane and the footpath fronting Nos.45-55 Aubries.

  1. b) the footpath fronting Nos.45-55 Aubries, Walkern from a point in line with the north western boundary of No.17 Froghall Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 95

An alternative route will be via the footpath situated on the north west side of No.17 Froghall Lane and the footway situated on the south side of Froghall Lane.

  1. c) the footpath fronting Nos.61-73 Aubries and situated on the north west side of No.17 Froghall Lane, Walkern from a point in line with the western boundary of No.61 Aubries eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 75

There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian access to properties along this footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. d) the footpath situated on the east side of Nos.69-71 Aubries, Walkern from its junction with Aubries northwards for a distance of approximately 33

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Aubries and the footpath fronting Nos.61-73 Aubries.

  1. e) the footpath situated between No.65 and No.67 Aubries, Walkern from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.65 Aubries southwards for a distance of approximately 22

An alternative route will be via the footpath fronting Nos.61-73 Aubries and the footway situated on the north side of Aubries.

  1. f) the footpath fronting Nos.50-60 Aubries, Walkern from its junction with Aubries southwards and westwards for a distance of approximately 60

There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian access to properties along this footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. g) the footpath fronting Nos.1-17 Meadow Way, Stevenage from its junction with Hillcrest north eastwards for a distance of approximately 107

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Hillcrest, the footway situated on the west side of Meadow Way, the footway situated on the south side of Mead Close and the footpath fronting Nos.1-7 Mead Close.

  1. h) the footpath fronting Nos.1-7 Mead Close, Stevenage from its junction with Mead Close south westwards for a distance of approximately 68

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side Mead Close, the footway situated on the west side of Meadow Way, the footway situated on the north side of Hillcrest and the footpath fronting Nos.1-17 Meadow Way.

  1. i) the footpath fronting Nos.8-16 Mead Close, Stevenage from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.9 Mead Close south westwards for a distance of approximately 31

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of Mead Close, the footway situated on the west side of Meadow Way, the footway situated on the north side of Hillcrest, the footpath fronting Nos.1-17 Meadow Way and the footpath fronting Nos.1-7 Mead Close.

  1. j) the footpath situated on the north east side of Broadwater Crescent, Stevenage from its junction with Broadwater Crescent south eastwards to its junction with Nokeside, a distance of approximately 35

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Broadwater Crescent and the footway situated on the west side of Nokeside.

  1. k) the footpath fronting Nos.52-62 Abbots Grove, Stevenage from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.62 Abbots Grove north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 91

An alternative route will be via the footpath fronting Nos.64-72 Abbots Grove and footpath fronting Nos.19-34 Abbots Grove.

  1. l) the footpath situated on the east side of No.22 Badgers Close, Stevenage from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.22 Badgers Close south eastwards for a distance of approximately 44

An alternative route will be via the cycleway situated on the north side of Six Hills Way, the cycleway situated on the west side of No.55 Abbots Grove and the footpath fronting Nos.51-55 Abbots Grove.

  1. m) the footpath fronting Nos.2-42 Ashdown Road, Stevenage from its junction with Ashdown Road south westwards, north westwards, south westwards, south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 54

There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian access to properties along this footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. n) the footpath fronting Nos.54-56 Longfields and Nos.29-41 Oakfields, Stevenage from its junction with Longfields westwards, north westwards, westwards, northwards and westwards for a distance of approximately 83

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east side Oakfields, the footway situated on the north side of Oakfields Close and the footway situated on the west side of Longfields.

  1. o) the footpath fronting Nos.58-64 Longfields, Stevenage from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.58 Longfields northwards for a distance of approximately 8

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Longfields, the footway situated on the north side of Oakfields Close, the footway situated on the east side of Oakfields and the footpath fronting Nos.54-56 Longfields.

  1. p) the footpath fronting Nos.2-9 Oakfields Close, Stevenage from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.2 Oakfields Close northwards, eastwards and southwards for a distance of approximately 31

There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian access to properties along this footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. q) the footpath fronting Nos.34-50 Ramsdell, Stevenage from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.50 Ramsdell northwards for a distance of approximately 69

An alternative route will be via the footpath fronting Nos.47-55 Ramsdell, the footway situated on the west side of Ramsdell and the footpath situated on the south side of No.32 Ramsdell.

  1. r) the footpath fronting Nos.18-28 Ruckles Close, Stevenage from its junction with Ruckles Close south eastwards to its junction with Bedwell Rise, a distance of approximately 42

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of Ruckles Close, the footpath fronting Nos.21-27 Ruckles Close and the footway situated on the north side of Bedwell Rise.

  1. s) the footpath fronting Nos.21-27 Ruckles Close, Stevenage from its junction with Ruckles Close south eastwards to its junction with Bedwell Rise, a distance of approximately 45

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of Ruckles Close, the footpath fronting Nos.18-28 Ruckles Close and the footway situated on the north side of Bedwell Rise.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads and Footpaths.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 27 June 2022 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads and Footpaths.

A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Clay End Road, Walkern from its westernmost junction Bassus Green north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 395m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Bassus Green.

The Order is needed because the installation of a new telephone pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 July 2022 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

  1. that length of Hailey Lane, Hoddesdon/Hailey from its junction with the A1170 Ware Road roundabout north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with B1197 London Road, a distance of approximately 1748 metres.

An alternative route will be via A1170 Ware Road and B1197 (Hertford Road/London Road).

  1. that length of B1037 Stevenage Road, Walkern from its junction with the B1037 Fairlands Way/Gresley Way roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and eastwards for a distance of approximately 1516 metres.

An alternative route will be via B1037 Fairlands Way, A1155 Verity Way, A1072 Martins Way, A602 Hitchin Road, B197 (Graveley Road/High Street/Jacks Hill), A505 Baldock Bypass, B197 (London Road/High Street), B656 Whitehorse Street, A505 (Clothall Road/unnamed road/Baldock Road) and B1037 (unnamed road/White Hill/High Street/Stevenage Road).

  1. that length of Farm Close, Hertford from its junction with Tudor Way south eastwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. the road leading to Nos.12-34 The Wick, Hertford from its junction with The Wick north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  1. that length of Daintrees, Hunsdon from its junction with B180 Hunsdon Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 17 metres.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
